Meet danielle wildes, lmft
Danielle Wildes is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and is Georgia Board Certified.
From an early age, Danielle has been sensitive to others' hurt, pain, and difficult emotions. While this was challenging for her to manage in her youth, she was later able to use this quality to answer her life calling of being a therapist who helps others through difficult times. She sees her work as deeply meaningful and is passionate about the art of therapy and the science of creating change for her clients.
Danielle believes every person has the right to be human, which means being emotional, imperfect, and even confused at times. For this reason, she is able to create an environment where her clients feel comfortable being themselves. Most of her clients comment on how easy she is to talk to, even those who describe themselves as someone who doesn't easily open up or connect to others.
Danielle is sensitive to the universal need to feel connected, validated, valued, and understood, and what happens to us when our needs are not met by those we feel the closest to. Danielle has helped many couples achieve more fulfilling relationships by focusing on key aspects such as healthy communication, fair fighting, realistic partner expectations, boundary setting, and emotional security. Danielle helps couples and individuals navigate relationships where both partners' needs are met, and yet, both individuals have the space they need to continue their own personal growth at the same time. However, throughout her clinical work, Danielle stays close to the possibility that not all relationships are fulfilling or healthy. In those cases, Danielle helps clients to redefine themselves, create their own independent sense of security, and heal from relational wounds. Danielle has had the unique experience of working with clients who experience the collision of low self-esteem, anxiety, trust, and anger due to unhealthy relationships or struggling relationships and is passionate about helping clients build a better future.
Danielle is warm, inviting, easy to talk to, and offers a clear guideline to clients to help them accomplish their goals.
Mrs. Wildes graduated with a Bachelors degree in Psychology from Georgia Southern University. From there, she went on to receive her Masters degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Valdosta State University.
When she is not doing therapy, Danielle enjoys spending time with family, enjoys nature, crafting, and spoiling her cat, Mr. Chilly.
Meet Misty McIntyre, LMft
Misty McIntyre is the owner of Therapy & Co. and is a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist. She is Georgia Board Certified and PREPARE/ENRICH Certified.
Misty has worked with individuals, couples, and families for the last 7 years. A self-proclaimed "therapy junkie," Misty often spends her time outside of session learning new techniques, talking about therapy and relationships, or with her nose in the newest book about the science of love or relationships to stay savvy and fresh in the field.
Misty has always had a deep fascination in relationships and believes that we are wired for connection. Her pursuit toward this field began after seeing her immediate and extended family struggle with relationship issues, grief and loss, trauma, addiction, depression and anxiety. She also was inspired by her great-grandparents who were married for 76 years, and she often talked with them to solve the mystery of love and how to make a marriage work so long. She figured an added perk would be to learn once and for all when she was "right" in her own romantic relationship. (She quickly learned that she, in fact, was not always "right".)
Misty learned that we are wired for connection to other people, and not having that comfort makes the world a much tougher place to live in. This humbling experience led Misty to truly begin to practice what she preaches. She applies what she knows in her own relationships with her husband, family, and friends, and has seen those strategies work first-hand.
"My husband is the best thing that ever happened to me. Our marriage is sacred. But, our relationship wasn't always so easy and fulfilling. We had our fair share of bumps, and there will be more to come. I've learned a lot along the way about how to have a great marriage. I want to share that with other people and let them know it is possible."
Now, she is invested in sharing this knowledge with individuals, couples, and families who struggle in relationships and want to learn to love and love well. Misty is a firm believer in learning how to be in relationship with yourself and others, as it is the key to making the bad times seem tolerable and the good times seem exceptional. She is also on a mission to help people maintenance their relationships, and learn to detect the signs of disconnection early, before small issues compound into larger problems.
On top of academic experience and real-life experience, Misty brings to the table warmth and compassion for others. She is tenacious, genuine, and a "go-getter" who isn't afraid to get to the heart of the matter with you. A witty, quick-thinker who can integrate information quickly, Misty offers clients a gentle, but direct approach, and occasionally throws in a little humor. Many of her clients say that they feel like she is a friend to them. Misty is invested in her work and is ready and willing to go the extra mile to support you as you dive in and do some tough and sometimes uncomfortable work.
Misty lives in Ranburne with her husband, her two Labrador Retrievers, Axl Rose & Addi, and the couple is expecting their first child this spring. She loves reading, decorating, walking, traveling, college football, and getting lots of love from her three nephews and new niece that will be arriving soon.
Misty attended the University of Georgia and obtained Bachelor of Science degree in Child and Family Development.
She then went on to receive her Master of Science degree in Marriage and Family Therapy on an academic scholarship from Valdosta State University where she graduated at the top of her class.
Misty is currently continuing education to work toward her certification in sex therapy, a certification not yet held by any other provider in the West Georgia community.
