Misty McIntyre is the owner of Therapy & Co. and is a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist. She is Georgia Board Certified and PREPARE/ENRICH Certified.

Misty has spent the last decade working in this practice serving couples and individuals with relationship challenges and growing her own practice was her “baby.”

Once she had children of her own, she became even more committed to not only helping couples have healthy relationships, but in keeping her own marriage healthy and setting a good example for her children. She developed a strong interest in relationship patterns, and the role that epigenetics, neuroscience, and trauma creates across generations. She became committed to developing more consciousness as a parent and wife to end any unproductive patterns that may inadvertently be passed to her children. Her greatest goal is to embody the skills and traits that allow her to really create a legacy for her family and to share that with clients that come to this office.

Misty really loves relational approaches to therapy. For the last several years, Misty has expanded her practices, serving as a relationship coach and working with clients internationally. She served as a relationship coach alongside a Harvard-trained Psychiatrist in a relationship healing program for physician women. Misty still serves as a relationship coach in a empowerment program for men who feel they are at rock bottom in their relationships.

Misty wanted to help more people in the community and went on a mission to find amazing therapists to bring on board to the practice. Misty has known and worked with each of the therapists for years. Misty’s role has shifted from the lone-wolf therapist to one where she works with a small caseload of clients, does some relationship coaching, and focuses on a supervisory role with therapists and managing the practice as it has grown.

Fun fact: Misty and Cynthia went too grad school together for their Masters and pushed each other to excel. They both graduated top of the class with perfect 4.0 GPAs. Misty and Cynthia still love to talk all things therapy!

Another Fun Fact: Jessica Renard first started in the practice several years ago as Misty’s administrative assistant while Jessica completed graduate school. Jessica was such a go-getter and amazing asset, Misty knew she would be a great addition later down the road and was thrilled when Jessica was ready to re-join as a therapist.

Misty trusts both of these clinicians and their ability to handle clients well. She sends all of her inner-circle people to them…that’s how confident she is about their skill and competence..truly top notch therapists.

On top of academic experience and real-life experience, Misty brings to the table warmth and compassion for others. She is tenacious, genuine, and a "go-getter" who isn't afraid to get to the heart of the matter with you. A witty, quick-thinker who can integrate information quickly, Misty offers clients a gentle, but direct approach, and occasionally throws in a little humor. Many of her clients say that they feel like she is a friend to them. Misty is invested in her work and is ready and willing to go the extra mile to support you as you dive in and do some tough and sometimes uncomfortable work.

Misty currently works with individuals via phone session. She loves working with women who feel resentment and anger in their marriage and/or motherhood and are working tirelessly to keep it all afloat. She also enjoys working with men who really want to succeed in their marriage but feel they are failing (and have either been blindsided by an affair, told their partner wants a divorce, or heard '“I love you but not in love with you.”).

Misty lives with her husband & 3 children. She loves country music, decorating, walking, traveling, college football, and front-porch sittin.’
